Re: outstanding bond refund [address of the premises]
Dear [Landlord or Agent’s Name],
I write to you concerning the $[bond amount] you are currently holding which I paid to you on [date], as bond for the premises at [full address].
I vacated the premises and handed back all keys on [date]. The property was left in a clean condition with no damages or outstanding rent. You completed the final inspection on [date].
According to the NSW Residential Tenancies Act 2010, all residential tenancy bonds must be lodged with NSW Fair Trading. Failure to lodge a bond could result in a fine of up to $2,200.
I first requested you return my bond on [date] through [email/text/WhatsApp/WeChat]. You [ignored my message/replied with: quote their exact reply].
At this stage, I have no other option but to issue you with this Letter of Demand. If you do not return my bond into the below bank account within seven days, I will be forced to take legal action against you to recover the outstanding amount and may do so without further notice.
