Navigating campus safely

SUPRA is dedicated to advocating for a safer and more inclusive campus, collaborating with the University to address student safety concerns. This page offers an overview of services and resources to help you navigate campus safely.

Emergencies

  1. Dial triple zero (000) for emergency services (fire/ambulance/police). Calling the police is the quickest way to get help in an emergency.
  2. Call Protective Services on 02 9351 3333 or 1800 SYD HLP (1800 793 457). Protective Services are available 24 hours a day to assist with an emergency or safety threat and are certified to perform first aid. Protective Services are also located in libraries across the University and have a 24-hour presence in Fisher Library.

Getting around campus safely

Free shuttle bus

The University operates free shuttle buses in the afternoons and evenings to help you get around safely. Check out the routes and timetables. You can track the buses using the Transport Me app. Additional transport options can be found on the University’s website.

Safety escorts

University Protective Services can provide safety escorts to students who feel unsafe on campus 24 hours a day. You can call Protective Services on 02 9351 3333 to request an escort to your car, bus stop, etc.

Emergency help points

The University also has emergency help points across main campus where you can directly contact Protective Services. Find them on the University maps page under amenities.

On-campus safety alerts

Sydney Uni Alert is an emergency notification system that sends direct alerts messages to your phone and email in the event of a serious on-campus emergency. Find out more about Sydney Uni Alert.

Reporting sexual harassment or assault

To speak to NSW Police about an incident of sexual assault or harassment, dial 000 or call the Police Assistance Line on 131 444.
