SUPRA Council – regulations and policy

SUPRA’s governance is formalised through a number of regulations, which are kept here for transparency and accessibility. All policy documents are drafted by the Policy Committee and ratified by the SUPRA Council.

Governing documents

SUPRA Constitution
Approved by Members at the AGM 31 May 2021. Approved by the DVC(E) 9 November 2021.

The Constitution is the document governing SUPRA’s operations. It gives scope to the actions of the SUPRA Council and in many cases defines not only what we should be doing but how we should be doing it. The Constitution can only be modified at an Annual General Meeting (AGM) or Extraordinary  General Meeting (EGM) and must be approved by a two-thirds majority of SUPRA members present at the meeting. However, changing SUPRA’s Constitution does not end there. SUPRA is constituted through a resolution of the University Senate (the highest decision-making body of the University of Sydney) and therefore the Senate’s delegate who is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) must approve any changes to our Constitution for them to take effect.
