SUPRA is closed from midday, Friday 19 December 2025 (Sydney time) for the University end-of-year closure. We will reopen at 9am, Tuesday 6 January 2026.
You can still contact us for help during this time, we will respond to you when we reopen. Please allow up to 2 working days for a reply after we reopen, as we receive a large volume of enquiries during the shutdown period.
If you need information about an academic issue while we are closed, please visit the Get help or HDR Hub pages of our website. They contain useful information about almost any academic issue you might have.
Our food pantry will reopen on for Semester 1, on Monday 23 February 2026 – find other food services. If you need extra support accessing food, our caseworkers can help when we return from the break. Contact us for help.
The University is closed
The University shuts down from 5pm, Friday 19 December 2025 and reopens at 9am, Tuesday 6 January 2026. Any day that the University is closed won’t count towards your deadlines for any appeals, misconduct, academic integrity or Show Good Cause. The University won’t expect you to respond during this period.
Some University support services will still be available, including some health and wellbeing support, peer support advice, and safety on campus. Find out more about University support available over the break.
Student Wellbeing is closed
Student Wellbeing, including Counselling, will be closed during the shutdown period.
During this shut down period, if you experience distress or difficulty with your mental health, you can contact:

- Mental wellbeing support line: 1300 474 065 or text 0488 884 429 (accessible within Australia)
- Sonder: all international students are eligible to access Sonder, a 24/7 on demand safety and wellbeing app.

HDRAC is open for email enquiries
The Higher Degree Research Administration Centre (HDRAC) will be open 9am–5pm, Monday–Friday (except public holidays) for email enquiries regarding enrolment, suspension, thesis submission, candidature and more.

Academic appeals
If you’re unhappy with your final mark and you want to appeal, you have 15 working days from the date you received your grades to lodge your appeal. This does not include any days between 20 December 2025 and 5 January 2026 (inclusive) when most of the University is closed for the end-of-year break.
For final exam and assessment results published on Wednesday 17 December 2025, the deadline to lodge your stage 1 appeal is Thursday 22 January 2026.

Show Good Cause
If you have been asked to Show Good Cause at the end of semester 2 2025, the University will not act on your case during the shutdown period. One of our professional caseworkers will be able to advise and assist you when we reopen.

Academic integrity breach allegations
One of our professional caseworkers will be able to advise and assist you with any academic integrity issues when we reopen. You will not be required to respond to an academic integrity allegation during the University shutdown.
