Not happy with your exam results? Want to make an appeal?

23 January, 2020

You have 15 working days from the release of results to submit a stage 1 appeal. If you are appealing results released on 18 December 2019, your stage 1 appeal is due on 23 January 2020. Read our advice on making an appeal, as well as our answers to frequent appeal questions.

If you want to make an appeal:

  1. If the assessment is an exam you should review the exam paper before contacting your unit coordinator. Your faculty will schedule exam review times, but if you miss these you may email your unit coordinator to request review of your exam paper, even if this means during January or February next year.
  2. Even if you have not reviewed the exam paper, or if your assessment is an assignment, you have a right to start the appeal process by contacting the unit coordinator or decision maker. For Business School appeals the first stage / informal appeal can be lodged online.
  3. Most unit coordinators are happy to give further feedback on a mark or grade when requested, but are not usually inclined to change a mark or grade without strong reasons presented by you.
  4. If the matter is not resolved to your satisfaction you will be referred to a formal faculty level appeal.

It is important to understand that receiving a poor mark or grade alone is not grounds for an appeal. Read:
