The Uni’s new Campus Access Policy requires all staff, students and visitors to seek permission for common student activities including:

  • events
  • protests or actions
  • temporary structures, such as a stall or information booth
  • using a megaphone or having amplified music, such as through a Bluetooth speaker
  • using cooking equipment not provided by the University
  • attaching banners or signs to University buildings, fences etc.

The policy also totally bans protests inside buildings, use of megaphones inside buildings, and encampments or occupations on University grounds. This policy could affect a range of student activities from free student lunches or BBQs, to student demonstrations.
