The HDR Research Mixer was a one-of-a-kind event and the first organised by the AMME (School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering) HDR Committee.
The event featured a technical workshop, a panel discussion, a 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) competition facilitated by the Learning Hub, a poster presentation, and a social ‘Speed Friending’ session. The event aimed to help research students develop their presentation skills, gain insights from academics, and practice 3MT and poster presentations in a relaxed environment. Approximately 40 participants attended, and most took part in all the activities, highlighting the success of the event, thanks to the Committee’s dedicated team and the support from the faculty.
The AMME HDR Committee was established to help research students bridge the gap between essential skills and their research goals and to facilitate inter-faculty collaborative projects. In addition, the committee is committed to supporting prospective HDR students, such as Honours and master’s by research students, by delivering tailored skill-development events.
