SUPRA offers a huge congratulations to the University of Sydney Student Representatives Coalition – a collective of disabled student leaders drawn from the SRC, SUPRA and the USU – who recently won a 2026 Australian Disability Clearinghouse on Education and Training (ADCET) award for its sustained advocacy efforts around issues of accessibility.
Over the past year, the Student Representatives Coalition has approached accessibility as a broad structural issue, including topics such as physical access, digital inclusion, financial equity, hybrid learning and air quality. Their coordinated group has delivered accessible events such as All Access Beats; ran a Mask Bloc that provides free respirator masks alongside educational resources; produced Disabled Honi 2025; played a formal consultation role in the University's policy development processes; and provided evidence and submissions to State and Federal inquiries and reviews.
SUPRA extends its congratulations to the members of the Coalition, including current SUPRA Disabilities Officer Sarah Huffman and former Disabilities Officer Gemma Lucy Smart.
