SUPRA President Weihong Liang (with support from SUPRA staff Rillark Bolton and Craig Lyons) has written to the University Senate to express support for the University developing a 10-year accommodation strategy.

The letter expresses concern for the difficulties that postgraduate students face when trying to secure accommodation during their studies. This is especially true for students with disabilities and their carers; student parents and carers; First Nations students; and international students – all of whom often face discrimination in the housing market.

SUPRA would like the University to develop a comprehensive plan to ensure all students are able to access safe and affordable accommodation during their studies.
