On 14 April 2023, a group of SUPRA representatives, including the Vice President, participated in Sexual Harassment and Assault Prevention Education (SHAPE) training, organised by the SUPRA Women’s Officer.

The training aimed to equip the representatives with the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent and respond to incidents of sexual harassment and assault. The session covered topics such as understanding consent, bystander intervention, and supporting survivors of sexual harassment and assault.

The training was facilitated by the Sydney Local Health District, who provided valuable insights and practical strategies for dealing with such sensitive issues. The SUPRA representatives actively participated in discussions, engaged in role-playing exercises, and asked thoughtful questions to enhance their understanding of the subject matter.

Overall, the training session was informative, engaging, and empowering, and the SUPRA representatives left with a heightened awareness of the importance of preventing and addressing sexual harassment and assault. SUPRA remains committed to ongoing education and prevention efforts to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students at the University of Sydney.
