Strengthening the public mission: international students as partners in Australia’s education

Sydney, Australia | 25 – 26 October 2026

The International Student Representative Conference is a national forum designed to strengthen connections between international student representatives and elevate the role of international student voices in shaping Australia’s education system. As Australia's national peak body for international student representation, the International Students Representative Council of Australia convenes the conference as the annual flagship forum for this community. It provides a national platform for student representatives, sector leaders, policymakers and education stakeholders to examine the issues shaping international student experiences, build leadership and advocacy capacity, and develop the necessary connections to maintain a stronger student voice across the sector.

In 2026, the conference will focus on strengthening connections among international student representatives and elevating their role in shaping Australia's education system. SUPRA and the Usyd SRC, as founding members of the International Students Representative Council of Australia, will host this year's conference at the University of Sydney.

Over two days, participants will engage in structured discussions, leadership workshops, training sessions and policy dialogues focused on the challenges and opportunities facing international students.

Please note that Day 1 (25 October) is exclusive to current international and domestic students. Non-student attendees can only register for Day 2 (26 October).
