SUPRA proudly announces that we will collaborate with Statistical Society of Australia (SSA) NSW branch and co-host their annual early career and student statistician event.
SUPRA and SSA warmly invite all postgrad students (HDR and coursework) who are majoring in relevant specialisations (statistics/data science/data analysis/general analysis/business analysis/economics/IT/applied mathematics) as early career statisticians and data scientists to attend.
This year we have the pleasure of hosting a handful of inspiring early career speakers and mid-career speakers, working in various industries. The speakers have been invited to share what they’ve learned, what they’ve achieved, what they’ve enjoyed and what surprised them. We also have a number of senior industry speakers who have been invited to provide their sage advice, their insights and general guidance to those interested in developing a fruitful career in the industry.
Meet our speakers:
- Dr Nancy Briggs: PhD in quantitative psychology. Current position is senior statistical consultant at UNSW Stats Central.
- Rachel Ragell: Bachelor with Honours in Statistics. Current position is data scientist at Lion.
- Earo Wang: Current position is data analyst at Canva.
- Stanislaus Stadlmann: PhD Statistics joint cotutelle student at University of Göttingen and Macquarie University. Current position is data scientist at QBE Insurance.
Catering and drinks will be provided. There will be plenty of opportunities for attendees to approach the speakers and each other freely.
SUPRA events are open to SUPRA members. Join SUPRA now for free. Please note that you need to bring your Usyd student ID on the night.
