Call-out for HDR student panellists with disabilities

SUPRA is seeking HDR speakers to be part of a panel discussion to be held in September 2021 on the topic: Disclosing your disability to your supervisors, and your academic rights. Date to be confirmed.

This peer-led discussion will explore tips and tools for HDR students on how to disclose their disability/disabilities to their supervisory team, and how to request academic adjustments.

We are seeking a diverse representation of speakers to include people with physical impairments, people who belong to a sensory minority, people with emotional disabilities, people with cognitive challenges, and those with chronic/severe illness.

The panel discussion will be held via a Zoom webinar with closed captioning. We have not established the exact date and time; we will do so once our speakers are confirmed, and we know everyone’s availability and needs.

If you are interested in being part of this important discussion please email the SUPRA Disabilities Officer Gemma Smart by 27 August 2021.
